The Hostelry: A Budget Friendly Hostel in Bacolod

As a traveler, I look for a budget friendly accommodation but will not sacrifice the clean and comfort. When we went to Bacolod, our accommodation is included in our tour package. It is called The Hostelry, I am not familiar with the place so I made further research just to make sure, I will get what I paid for.

The Hostelry is located along La Salle Avenue at Roli's Arcade building. It is conveniently situated near public transport, fast food chains, convenience store and etc.

A matrimonial room (double bed) was book for us because as we requested for a private separate room. The room is provided with  with linen, pillow, towel, and soap. It has television, air conditioner, hot and cold shower and lucky enough to get a spacious closet.

What I love about the place

Its chic and colorful lobby gave the expression that the place provide good facilities and service. As I walked inside the room, I love how spacious and clean it was. The white sheets, one fuzzy blanket and two pillows complete its coziness.

They provided cleaning service as they cleaned our room once we were out for our tour and we will get back to a nice and tidy room.

The downside

I would consider the place perfect if they have extra dining table and chairs. Because when we were at The Hostelry, we bought to-go breakfast at the near fast food chain and we found it really hard to eat on the bed.

No WiFi in the rooms. You have to go down in the lobby access internet.

There is no bidet. *a moment of silence* When I stayed in this place, I recognize the full worth of bidet. I only did number 2 once (TMI) when I stayed at The Hostelry because I anticipated that it would really difficult for me to do the deed because of lack of bidet.

Here you go, I gave some thought about our stay.

I would highly recommend the place once you go to Bacolod especially when  you are travelling on a budget because they just don't have private rooms they also have shared rooms when you can  socialize with other travelers.

Hotel Review: Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn, Baguio City

Hotel Review: Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn, Baguio City

More than a month ago, my boyfriend and I celebrated my 23rd birthday in Baguio City, the Summer Capital of the Philippines. We stayed for a night and I am glad to share that finding hotels in Baguio City was never been that hard. I booked our hotel in Agoda mobile app, which I have been using since last year. Using this app, you will discover more hotels with good discounts. Luckily, through this app, we found our home for a night. The place is called Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn and we got it for only 1,500php. I guess that was a good deal for a great place to stay.

Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn is located along Marcos Highway, a few minutes away from the town center. I don't mind if it is not located in the town center because taxis are all over Baguio City and in fact, you can book your ride through Grab Taxi App. No worries about getting lost.

Upon arrival at Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn at past 6 pm, they accommodated us, gave the keys and showed the room. I was surprised how it looks, better in person than the picture in Agoda app! We got more for less price. Also, they let us pay upon checkout.

What I love about the place

I would like to commend how clean everything is. I love how comfy and cozy the bed is, with clean white sheet and comforter coupled with two fluffy pillows and two throw pillows. Beside the bed, there is a bedside table with a telephone to call the front desk. And how can I forget, their wifi connection is stable.

For the price of 1,500php, you'll have a television set, cabinet, towels,  wifi and a balcony.

The toilet and bath are spacious and it has a hot and cold shower which is perfect for the cold Baguio City. I love how clean it is and it has a mirror, not all hotel bathrooms have a mirror.

Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn provided basic toiletries, soap shampoo, sanitizer, toothbrush, and toothpaste. All of these are in the pouch provided by Zen Rooms, and yes you can take this home!

The downside

Overall, I liked the place because it passed my standards but I just hope that should have had a free breakfast. Another downside is there was no signal since their rooms are located in the basements of their building.

Despite these downsides, I love Zen Rooms Casa Bel Inn. Like I told you, you'll get more for less! It is ideal for people who will just need a place to rest and have a good night sleep.
