There's just something about summer that makes even the hardest working gal want to kick back and relax for a bit. Whether it's the long summer days, ample vacation time, or drowsy heat, the season feels like the perfect time to laze around. Before the warm months draw to a close and the rains come in, make sure you maximize that downtime by catching up on all your favorite things. A study from the American Psychological Association revealed that millennials are the most stressed-out generation, much of which is attributed to lack of sleep. Take the time to catch up on your sleep debt this summer, and you'll find that you'll be more than ready to take the rest of the year on.

Another thing you can spend time on this summer is catching up on all of the series that you've missed over the year. The summer months are the best time of the year to catch up on shows or try new ones that you haven't yet. After all, there's nothing better than waking up in the morning and getting ready for a Netflix marathon. Block off a weekend for some binge-watching, and make sure you stay hydrated while you watch!

According to Forbes, millennials are reading more than previous generations had at their age. It's a great time to be a book lover, with tons of different platforms that you can use for reading. Whether it's a physical book, a Kindle, or even just your smartphone, books are everywhere. Grab the next novel on your list and reduce your backlog with a nice read on the beach. There's definitely nothing better.

It's hard to imagine what life would be like without the simple blog. These online journals on a ton of different topics make whiling away the time so much fun, and you can learn a few new things to boot. Revisit old favorites or check out new ones on your downtime this summer.
